Today I accepted a job offer from Torch Mobile as a software developer in Toronto working alongside a few other KDE developers on WebKit/Qt.
So, pending my visa application, I’ll be relocating to Toronto in August. I can’t wait - here’s to pastures new!

Are you saying that not only you but a few other KDE developers are moving to Toronto..?!
That would be awesome – I’m in Toronto at least until 2010 and would enjoy meeting you guys… plus there’s a slight chance that I might be looking for a job in Toronto in 2010…
Nah, only me. I think the others are working from other places..
Hey don’t get me wrong – it’s great already that you are moving here, looking forward to meet you.
Good Luck with the Visa George!
I just immigrated to Ontario myself. I’m not a hacker, but I like to contribute here and there where I can on the artwork / triaging end of things.
Anyway, don’t be a stranger when you get into town, and congratulations on the new job.
May you help make Webkit well and truly rock. :)
Wow, I didn’t know they were so involved with Webkit and Qt stuff. I use their Iris Browser daily, it’s excellent!
I’m a KDE developer and in the Toronto area :-)
Congrats, and say hello to Staikos for me.
Congratulations!
George, I didn’t know you were relocating too! That’s awesome. Welcome to the company :)
Ok, I too am a (somewhat beginning) KDE hacker in Toronto too… lets all meet up!
My full name is nathanlbradshaw and I use gmail…. so if you are (or will soon be) a T.O. KDE hacker, give me a mail and I’ll coordinate us all getting in touch with each other and meeting up somewhere.
cheers Nathan
And I always though I was the only KDE in this city! How come we’ve never met? /me thinks Toronto KDE team has to meet up at #kdeintoronto@freenode.net
sounds like a good spot for a camp KDE meeting :D
Torch Mobile? Yeah, I think I’ve heard of those guys already :P
